Saluting the History, Honouring the future. Jagran Lakecity University celebrated the 39th birth anniversary of the fifth dragon king of Bhutan, His Majesty Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, and organized a cultural programme to celebrate diversity, yet creating an environment of home away home for our Bhutanese student on 21st February 2019.



Bhutan-India relations have been shaped as much by history, culture and geopolitical realities as also by the wise and visionary leadership of the two countries and the belief of their people in a shared destiny. 
The programme started with the welcome address by Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Jagran Lakecity University Prof. (Dr.) Anoop Swarup, followed by Namgay Dorji, President, Bhutanese Student Association along with the Deans and Directors of various schools in attendance.


From presenting the auspicious Trashi Khaddar, to the Bhutanese cultural dance performance. A solo song performance by Namgay Dorgi, President, Bhutanese Student Association himself, to the splendid Indian Classical dance & melodious singing performances by our students, it was a sight to behold. Indeed, a delight to witness the auditorium being full to its maximum capacity with students standing as spectators.


Followed by the cultural programme, a cake cutting ceremony took place to celebrate the 39th Birthday of His Majesty. Henceforth, an exhibition was put up by the students of Bhutanese Association honouring their rich culture which turned out to be the cherry on the cake.
