As part of the collaboration between Jagran School of Journalism and Communication, Jagran Lakecity University and London College of Communication UAL: University of the Arts London (which is ranked second place in the 2019 QS World University Rankings for Art and Design), Dr Lucia Vodanovic visited Jagran Lakecity University from 5th– 7th March 2019. She is a Course Leader for the MA Arts and Lifestyle Journalism course at London College of Communication and teaches the Critical Perspectives units on MA Arts and Lifestyle Journalism and also lecturers on the BA (Hons) Journalism course at London College of Communication.

Lucia studied journalism in #Chile, where she grew up, before working in arts, culture and lifestyle publications. She also had a weekly column in a national newspaper about the life of a single woman in #Santiago under a fictional name. After moving to the #UK, Lucia completed her MA and PhD in Cultural Studies at Goldsmiths and has taught at a number of universities around the UK.

Her edited collection, Disturbios Culturales (Ediciones UDP), appeared in 2012 and her work has also been featured in publications such as Journal of Visual Art Practice, Travesia: Journal of Latin American Cultural Studies and Journal of Romance Studies.

As part of her visit, she took academic sessions with Journalism students of Jagran School of Journalism and Communication as well as interacted with the faculty.




Germany

Prof. Dr. Frank Best, Head, Department of Management, University of Applied Sciences, Konstanz visited Jagran Lakecity University from Germany and delivered special lectures to our students on “Strategic Marketing Management, Strategic Management & International Marketing” and interacted with the faculties from 18th to 23rd  February 2019.

During his visit, Prof. (Dr.) Frank Best attended the inaugural session and guest lecture: The Cognizance – A Research Arena, organized by Jagran Lakecity University Research Cell welcoming the PhD/M.Phil batch of academic year January 2018-19. During interaction with the research scholars, he bestowed his insights on the various facets of research methodologies. He paid emphasis on the significance of research in the present time and shared his views on the importance of good quality research by urging the students to emphasize on the quality of research rather than the cut-copy-paste method of research. He also shared that in this era of knowledge good quality research will automatically open the new avenues for a research student.
