Mothers, sisters, wives, girlfriends and fiancées. What would we ever do without them? Nobody can honestly say we don’t owe an enormous amount to the women in our lives, from the mothers who made us soup when we were sick as children, to the sisters who helped us decide what to wear on our birthdays, to the wives who somehow manage to juggle both a career and a family, never missing a beat.

Women’s Day is all about celebrating these incredible people and showing them how much we love, respect and value them. This day is perhaps especially important in parts of the world where women are still forced to deal with shocking inequality on a daily basis and are meant to raise awareness of the challenges and struggles faced by these women. Women’s Day celebrates women’s history, highlighting key events, milestones and achievements, and aims to further promote and raise awareness of women’s rights and to achieve equal opportunity status in all walks of life.

JLU Women’s Cell celebrated the International Women’s Day on 8th March 2019 at Jagran Lakecity University with full fervour and enthusiasm. Hon’ble Prof. Dr. Anoop Swarup, Vice Chancellor, JLU, Prof. Dr. Vivek Khare, Dean, JLU and Dr. R. Nesamoorthy, Registrar, JLU addressed the gathering and congratulated women for their contribution in the world and the University in specific.

Mrs. Archana Jain, CFAO, JLU spoke on financial management, especially for the female employees. She addressed the gathering with information about tax planning and investment liable for the ongoing as well as the upcoming financial year. She also solved queries and clarified the doubts of the participants. Documentaries and short films on women concerns were seen and discussed for women empowerment. A lot of hidden talent was exposed when many ladies tiptoed to the stage to present talent in the poems, singing and dancing.
